I decided on my base engine. I found a new DX8 VB6 engine called Malachite made by Monoxide over at Monoxide Design. You should definitely check them out if you are interested in engines or game making in general. They have a lot of friendly faces that will be able to assist you in bringing your ideas to life! And hey, you may even see me making a useless post or two. :)
I have a lot of ideas I want to try to implement. Although I'm not the greatest programmer in the world, I can still manage to do what I what. Maybe in a half-assed way, but hey, we can always optimize later.
